Anguilla's Labour Minister, Walcott Richardson, has rejected claims that he may have acted improperly in the administration of work permits.

The governor of the British territory had asked the Chief Minister to fire or suspend Richardson to allow a full investigation of the allegations.

However, in a radio address Richardson defended himself saying he had always acted within the island's employment laws.
