Jamaica, USA face off in semifinals today

Host nation Jamaica, who on Wednesday qualified for this summer’s FIFA Under-17 World Cup, will continue their bid for the CONCACAF Under-17 title when they face the United States in today’s semi-finals at Montego Bay Complex in St James.
The Jamaica, United States game will be the second match of the semi-final double header and is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
The first semi-final features Panama against Canada at 4 p.m.
Jamaica’s head coach Wendell Downswell says the team is very motivated going into the game against the United States.
The four semi-finalists earned the right to contest the FIFA Under-17 Boys’ World Cup, which is slated for this summer in Mexico.
The Young Reggae Boyz qualified for the FIFA World Cup and booked their place in the CONCACAF Championship semi-final after a 2-1 victory over Honduras in the quarterfinal yesterday.
On that day, Canada also qualified after knocking out Trinidad and Tobago. The Canadians won the game 2-0.
The semi-final winners will contest the final on Sunday.
