The regional airline, LIAT, today announced that it had reached a partnership with Panamanian – based airline COPA allowing it to move cargo from the Eastern Caribbean to Cuba with same day delivery.

LIAT’s Director of Cargo and Quikpak, Wilbur Edwards, says that with so many students from the islands now studying in Cuba and with the many Cuban doctors, nurses and diplomats throughout the Caribbean, it was an opportune time for the nationals to be made aware that there is a very efficient way of transporting goods including personal effects to and from Cuba.

He said the same-day service would also allow for the movement of cargo from Cuba to the Eastern Caribbean through Santo Domingo three days a week.

Edwards said the service would also be beneficial to many people now interacting with Cuba .
