Bishoo replaces Bravo in World Cup squad

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has received confirmation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) that its Technical Committee has approved the application for Devendra Bishoo to replace the injured Dwayne Bravo in the West Indies World Cup squad.
Bishoo, a leg spinner, will join the West Indies squad in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is expected to arrive tomorrow.
The Windies next face Bangladesh on Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
The 25-year-old Bishoo collected 10 wickets in the WICB Regional One-day competition last October, and was one of the leading bowlers in the tournament.
Bishoo’s good form continued in the WICB Regional first-class championship, where he has so far collected 15 wickets at 20.73 apiece.
Bravo, the side’s leading all rounder for the last four years, suffered a major injury to his left knee during the defeat against South Africa last Thursday night. He has been ruled out of the tournament and is expected to be out of the game for a minimum of four weeks.
West Indies bounced back from that defeat to inflict a crushing 215-run victory over Netherlands at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in India yesterday.
