Windies confident of victory

West Indies captain Darren Sammy says the Caribbean side is confident of making the Cricket World Cup quarterfinals tomorrow in Mohali, India.



West Indies and giant-killers Ireland will face off in a Group-B game tomorrow morning and victory would give Sammy’s team a quarterfinal place.



Sammy says the last two games have shown that if the players execute the team’s plans anything is possible.



He further says the players are confident about making the quarterfinals stage as they are all focussed.



West Indies started their campaign with a seven-wicket loss to South Africa but since then picked up two impressive wins, a 215-crushing of the Netherlands and a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Bangladesh.



Ireland, however, may prove tricky opponents especially after they chased down 327 to beat England to record their only win of the tournament in Bangalore, India a week ago.
