CARICOM energy ministers are meeting in Guyana today to discuss the increases in world oil prices.

The meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development will examine trends in CARICOM as well as national and regional responses to global developments.

This month at least six Caribbean countries increased fuel prices to US$5 or more per gallon.

The ministers are also expected to review a report on a Regional Energy Sector Assessment which was commissioned by the CARICOM secretariat, as well as a draft energy policy for member countries.
