Media support journalist

Several media houses in Guyana have pledged their support for an unprecedented call by the country\'s Press Association, to give limited coverage to events hosted by the government.

The call was in response to a ban on journalist Gordon Mosley, for what the government said were disparaging and disrespectful remarks in a letter to the press defending, a story which the President had taken offence to.

Mr. Mosley was banned from the office of the President and State House.

Caribbean media workers have described the ban as undemocratic, antiquated and a sign of a crumbling democracy.

Mr. Jagdeo\'s publicity officer Quame McCoy said the ban was a reprimand for unbecoming conduct.
