Jamaica to host Digicel final round
Jamaica will host the final round of the 2008 Digicel Caribbean Football Championships from December 1 to 14.
The final-round will include eight teams. Defending champions Haiti and Jamaica have been allocated automatic berths in the finals.
The Championships will kick off in Curacao on July 27 with hosts, Netherlands Antilles opposing Grenada in a Group ‘A’ first round match at the Ergilio Hato Stadium.
Guyana will host Group ‘B’ from August 4 to 11. Group ‘C’ will be held at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Grand Cayman from August 27 to 31.
Group ‘D’ will take place in St. Kitts and Nevis from September 24 to 28 and Group ‘E’ matches will be staged in Martinique from September 15 to 19.
The champions will earn a first prize of US$120,000. The runners-up will pocket US$70,000, while US$50,000 will go to the third place team.
Thirty thousand US dollars will go to fourth place team.
