Jamaica beat Canada

Jamaica scored a historic 3-2 victory over Canada yesterday to finish fifth in the mixed team event at the Pan American Junior Badminton Championships now being played in Guatemala.
It was the first time that Jamaica had a victory against a Canadian national badminton team.
Jamaica recorded victories through Gareth Henry in the boys’ singles, Mikaylia Haldane and Shana-Kay Bailey in the girls’ doubles and Henry and Chadwick Parson in the boys’ doubles.
Shana-Kay Bailey lost the girls’ singles and Tossainte Taylor and Mikaylia Haldane were beaten in the mixed doubles.
The individual championships will start today.
