STETHS wins Headley Cup title

St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), secured their fifth straight hold on the rural-area ISSA/Grace Headley Cup title by defeating first-time finalists Tacky High by 363 runs on yesterday’s final day of the three-day final.
The match was played at Alpart Sports Club in Nine, St Elizabeth.
Set a massive 418 runs to win in 37 overs, Tacky High were dismissed for 55 in 26 overs with offspinner Orane Linton taking four wickets and leg spinner Cassius Burton claiming three for match-haul of nine for 34.
Earlier, STETHS who resumed 81 for one declared their second innings at 258 for five following a 160-run first innings lead.
When the declaration came, captain Paul Palmer Junior was 104 not out and Burton undefeated on 54.
Final scores in the match are STETHS 231 and 258 for five declared, Tacky High 71 and 55.
