Gayle returns with a bang to set up Bangalore’s victory

Chris Gayle hit an unbeaten century as Bangalore Royal Challengers thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders in their Indian Premier League encounter at Eden Gardens in Kolkata yesterday.
Gayle announced his arrival to the competition by blasting seven sixes and 10 fours en route to a 55-ball 102 against his former franchise as Bangalore chased down Kolkata's 171 with 11 balls to spare.
Bangalore ended on 175, with Virat Kohli the other undefeated batsman. He scored 30 from 23 deliveries.
Earlier, Gautam Gambhir, 48; Yusuf Pathan, 46 and Jacques Kallis, 40, scored most runs to guide Kolkata to 171 for 5 off their allotted 20 overs.
Gayle will next be in action on Tuesday when his team plays Delhi Daredevils
