St. Maarten's health ministry investigates assault claims

The health ministry in St. Maarten is now investigating claims that a gynaecologist assaulted the head nurse in his department at the country’s medical center.



The doctor is said to have hit the nurse, who has worked at the facility for almost 20 years, while she was performing her duties.



Family members of the nurse have called for the board and management of the St. Maarten Medical Center to take the necessary actions against professionals involved in violent behaviour at the medical institution.



This is the second time a doctor at the St. Maarten Medical Center has attacked another medical professional at the institution.
