Jamaica's middleweight champ to take the crown
The middleweight champion of Jamaica will be crowned tonight when hard hitting Devon Moncrieffe and Rikardo Smith face off over 10 rounds in the grand finale of the Wray and Nephew Contender Boxing Series at the Constant Spring football field.
The winner of the bout will also take home $1 million, while the loser is guaranteed $500,000.
There will also be a third place prize of $250,000 and a fourth place prize of $200,000.
Semi-final losers Tsetsi Davis and Sakima Mullings are lining up for those prizes.
The third place will go to the boxer who lost to tonight’s winner in the semi-finals.
In the semi-final bouts, Davis was beaten by Moncrieffe; while Mullings lost to Smith.
As usual the show will be live on TJV, starting at 8:30, with two preliminary fights.
The supporting fights are Ricardo Planters against Anthony Osbourne and Ian ‘Hagler’ Smith against Kevin Harvey.
Both fights are over six rounds.
