Romelda Aiken was unstoppable as Queensland Firebirds finished the regular season in the ANZ Championship, with a crushing 69-52 victory over the Canterbury Tactix today in New Zealand.
The superstar Jamaican goal shooter scored 50 goals from 55 attempts to help the Firebirds retained their unbeaten record at the end of the preliminary competition, and head home to host the major semifinal.
Tactix, whose roster includes Jamaican defender Kasey Evering, could not present Helen Mahon-Stroud, their outgoing coach of the last four years, with a winning farewell.
Meanwhile, England defeated Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls 54-51 in the third and final Supreme Ventures netball series at the National Indoor Sports Centre. Jamaica lead the series 2-1.
