Five days of heavy rains have caused widespread damage across St. Lucia.
Director of Meteorological Services on the island, Thomas Auguste says the weather pattern is unusual and is the highest recorded rainfall for the month of April in many years.
He says up to 354.4 millimetres of rainfall has been recorded in the south of the island, which is the highest since 1973; while in the north, 237.1 millimetres of rain were recorded.
He says the last time the country experienced such high rainfall was in 1981. There has been no report of deaths.
