Jamaica take charge
Jamaica have dented Barbados’ title hopes in the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 challenge after yesterday’s opening day of the fifth and final round match at the Cable and Wireless Sports Club in Barbados.
The fourth-placed Jamaicans, who have no chance of winning the title, made 255 and then reduced front-runners Barbados to 82 for five when stumps were drawn yesterday.
Horace Miller top scored for Jamaica with 51. Andre Creary 44, Nick Blackwood 38 and Jermaine Blackwood 35 supported him.
Jermaine Blackwood, an off spinner, has so far taken two wickets for Jamaica.
Trinidad and Tobago, replying to Guyana’s first innings total of 227, will resume today on 22 without.
Windward Islands, replying to Leeward Islands first innings total of 175 will resume today on 113 for one in their bottom-of-the-table clash.
