The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries have accepted a new tariff level proposed by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to end the banana dispute between Latin America and the European Union.
According to the French news agency AFP, the ACP group wants more time to implement the changes.
The Ambassador of Ivory Coast to the WTO said the group wanted the changes introduced from 2020 instead of 2015.
Latin American producers are holding out for a lower reduction.
They have successfully challenged the EU\'s banana import regime before the WTO, on the grounds that it discriminates against them in favour of ACP countries.
