Sunshine Girls best defensive team

Defending champions Jamaica took the best defensive team award at the Americas Federation of Netball Associations tournament that ended on Friday at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent.



The Sunshine Girls conceded just 126 goals from 169 attempts in five matches.



Trinidad and Tobago were next conceding 190 from 250, followed by Barbados 216 from 287 and St. Vincent and the Grenadines 231 from 303.



The Barbadians, who ended the tournament in third position, were adjudged the most accurate shooting team after converting 236 of their 270 attempts.



This left them with a conversion rate of 87. 4 percent, almost six percentage points ahead of Jamaica.



The Jamaicans, who convincingly won the tournament, scored 286 of their 350 attempts for an

81.71 percent.



The Sunshine Girls returned home on Saturday.
