Rain halts West Indies fightback

The second day of the second Test between West Indies and India ended prematurely today because of a combination of regular showers and fading light at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Only 25.3 overs were possible in just under two hours play as West Indies reached 98-5 in reply to India’s 201 all out on the opening day yesterday.
West Indies, who resumed the day on 30-3, lost overnight batsmen Ramnaresh Sarwan for 18 and Devendra Bishoo for 13.
Marlon Samuels 21 and Shivnarine Chanderpaul 20 have so added 41 runs for the sixth wicket.
Seamer Ishant Sharma ended the day as India’s most successful bowler with 3-31.
West Indies trail 1-nil in the three-Test series, following a 63-run defeat inside four days last Thursday on Saturday at Sabina Park in Jamaica.
