World Youth squad departs today

Jamaica’s squad to the International Association of Athletics Federations World Youth Championships in Lille, France will depart today without world youth leader in the 100 metres Jazeel Murphy.
The squad will overnight in St Maarten before flying to France tomorrow.
The 17-year-old Murphy was ruled out of the team after failing to recover from the quadriceps injury that caused him to miss the National Junior Trials a few weeks ago.
Murphy is the fastest youth athlete this year at 100 metres with a time of 10 point 2-7 seconds secured at the CARIFTA Games in Jamaica.
The World Youth Championships will run from July 6 to 10.
