Usain bolt to run in Monaco

World 100 and 200-metre record-holder Usain Bolt is among seven Jamaicans on the provisional entry lists to compete in Monaco on July 22 for the 10th stage of the Samsung Diamond League.



Bolt is down to run the men’s 100 metres, which also includes two other Jamaicans – Yohan Blake and Michael Frater.



It will be Bolt’s first 100-metre race since he easily beat his Jamaican compatriot Steve Mulling on May 31 at the Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic.



Olympic and World 100-metre silver medallist, Kerron Stewart of Jamaica will face off with the American pair of Carmelita Jeter and Allyson Felix in the women’s 200 metres.



And Rosemarie Whyte and Novlene Williams-Mills are down to contest the women’s 400 metres where they will again face off with Amantle Montsho of Botswana and Jamaican-born American Sanya Richard-Ross.



The other Jamaican on the provisional entry lists is Kenia Sinclair who is down to run the women’s 1500 metres.



Meanwhile, organisers have confirmed that Bolt will run the 200-metre at the Stockholm Diamond League meeting on July 29.



Bolt, the World and Olympic double sprint champion, will be returning to the track where last year he lost the 100-metre to American Tyson Gay.



Bolt will challenge the meeting record of 19.77 set by former World record holder Michael Johnson in 1996.
