At least three people are reported to have been killed after three explosions in India's commercial capital Mumbai.

According to initial reports, dozens of people have been wounded.

Local media reports said that one explosion occurred in the busy Zaveri Bazaar, another near the Opera House and a third south of the city.

The blasts coincide with the birthday of Mohammad Ajmal Amir Qasab, the sole surviving gunman from the 2008 Mumbai attacks which killed nearly 170 people.

Indian media have quoted the home ministry as saying the explosions are a terrorist attack.
