BNS Tennis tounrey off to a good start

Some of the islands top tennis players bowed into action today as the 10th staging of The Bank of Nova Scotia Amateur and Professional Tennis Tournament got underway at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston.



In the men’s class one event Ramone Doyley and Shak Jone teamed-up to defeat Christopher Rowe and Jason Lawson 6-0, 6-0. Meanwhile in the men’s class two play-off Marlon Hosang and Marlon Brown defeated Garfield Forbes and Arnold Douglas 4-6, 6-3, 7-3.



There was also some exhilarating action in the men’s class three section as Lenworth Murray and Kenneth Edwards defeated Donovan Reid and Courtney Kazembe 6-1, 6-3.



While David Hodgers and Karl Donnelley had an easy walk-over Andre Johnson and Anthony Berges.



Play in the tournament continues on Sunday, July 17 the class 2 event.
