Cricket: Jamaica and Trinidad U-19 match delayed

Play between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago on today’s opening day of the first round match in the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 Challenge at Everest in Guyana has been delayed.
Several pieces of the players’ kit have been misplaced, following the flights from their respective countries.
However, the teams are expected to have those items returned in time for a start after the scheduled lunch interval.
Over at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence, Leeward Islands, choosing to bat against hosts Guyana, reached 90-7 in their first innings when rain stopped play about 10 minutes before the scheduled lunch.
Rahkeen Cornwall has so far top scored for Leeward Islands with 43, while Anthony Adams and Amir Khan have taken two wickets apiece.
Over at the Demerarra Cricket Club … Barbados, sent in to bat, reached 102-4 in their first innings at the lunch interval against reigning champions Windward Islands.
Kraigg Brathwaite 26 and Anthony Alleyne 23 scored most runs for Barbados so far, with Larry Edwards leading the bowling with 3-13.
Each team will play five matches in a round-robin format, and the team with the most points will be declared the three-day winners.
The 50-over competition is scheduled to start on August 9.
