A week after he was critically injured in a gun attack in Antigua, which claimed the life of his bride, Benjamin Mullany was yesterday pronounced dead by a British hospital.

Morriston Hospital in Swansea, Wales, said brain stem tests showed that Mullany, who had been on life support systems, was dead.

He was declared brain dead by doctors at the Holberton Hospital\'s intensive care unit and was flown home Friday.

The Mullanys, both 31, were married July 12 and went to Antigua for a two-week honeymoon.

The British couple was attacked on July 27, in the cottage where they were staying at the Cocos Hotel resort in the island\'s southwest.
