Jamaica poised to beat T&T

The first round of the West Indies Cricket Board Regional Under-19 Championships in Guyana ends today with Jamaica strongly poised to defeat Trinidad and Tobago at Everest Cricket Club.



Jamaica have already won the crucial first innings’ points on yesterday’s second day of the three-day contest.



And T&T following-on, 184 runs behind, will resume today struggling on 52 for three. They are still 134 runs away from making the Jamaicans bats a second time.



Marquino Mindley and James McDonald have taken a wicket each.



During the second day, the Jamaicans extended their overnight 278 for six to 320 and then bowled out the Trinidadians for 136, to take a 184-run lead.



Over at the Demerarra Cricket Club:- Barbados, leading reigning champions Windward Islands by 13 runs on first innings, will resume this morning on 292 for eight in their second innings. Scores in that match so far:- Barbados 161 and 292 for eight; Windward Islands 148.



Over at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence:- the Leewards Islands, trailing hosts Guyana by 208 runs on first innings will resume this morning on 112 for six in their second innings. Scores in that game so far:- Leeward Islands 109 and 112 for six; Guyana 317 for 9 declared.
