Jamaican opener Chris Gayle is one of several current West Indies players set to appear in privately organised Twenty20 competition to be staged on August 12 and 14 at the Guyana National Stadium.

The explosive left-handed batsman, whose recent omission from the West Indies team prompted outrage around the Caribbean, will play for Hits & Jams in the four-day/night matches.

Each team is allowed three International players.

Gayle’s teammates include three other Jamaicans --- Danza Hyatt, Andre Russell and Krishmar Santokie.

Guyana captain and West Indies batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will spearhead the Georgetown Pitbulls, whose side also includes Kieron Pollard, fellow Trinidad & Tobago all-rounder Navin Stewart, as well as Guyana national players Chris Barnwell and Leon Johnson.
