Immunity under threat

National security ministers of the Caribbean Community have agreed to ignore the diplomatic immunity now held by any officer at the security agency for the regional bloc who is found to be engaged in criminal activity.

The decision came as the CARICOM ministers received a progress report on the ongoing audit of the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security.

The meeting followed a wave of media reports alleging financial impropriety at the agency.
