Junior Championships Round Up

Jamari Rose and Diamond Cassanova handed Jamaica their first victory in the mixed doubles section on today’s second day of singles at the Ocean Spray Wata Junior Badminton Championships at the National Indoors Sports Centre in Kingston.



The Jamaican pair defeated Victor Henrique De Jesus Alves and Luana Amaral 22-20, 21-17 in the Boys 17 and Under category.



Victory for Jamaica came following three straight defeats earlier.



Jamaica secured another victory when Gerald Isaac teamed up with top local female player Mikaylia Haldane to beat Wilton Tabares and Daigenis Saturria of Dominican Republic 21-10, 21-16 in the 19 and Under section.



And Romone Robinson and Jozanne Suckie secured another victory for Jamaica by defeating the Guyanese pair of Christopher Persaud and Tricia Ramjit 21-9, 21-12 in another 19 and Under match.



Meanwhile, Jamaican Sean Wilson continued his good run in the 15 and Under section by defeating Jesus Murillo of El Salvador 21-5, 21-10 in their singles match.
