England take control

India have taken the early advantage in the second N-power Test after bowling out hosts England for 221 after winning a crucial toss under cloudy skies at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.



But England have hit back as Jimmy Anderson had Abhinav Mukund caught in the gully from the first ball of India's innings, leaving India on 24 for 1 at the close.



It could have been far worse for England, who slumped from 73 for 2 to 124 for 8 at tea before Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann staged a fightback to help England get past 200.



The pair added an entertaining partnership of 73. Broad was dismissed for a top score of 64, while Swann scored 28.



Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth ended with three wickets each for India.



England lead the series 1-nil.
