Jamaican sprinters win in Sweden

Jamaican sprinters Rasheed Dwyer and Carrie Russell were winners at the Folksam Grand Prix in Karlsad, Sweden today.



Russell of MVP Track Club was very impressive as she easily won the women’s 100 metres in 11.27, while Anneisha McLaughlin finished fifth in a season-best 11.54.



Ezinne Okparaebo of Norway was second in 11.41.



Dwyer secured two victories. He clocked 10.33 seconds to win the men’s 100-metre ‘B’ final and then led home a Jamaica one-two in the men’s 200 metres.



In the 200 metres, Dwyer clocked a season-best 20.54 seconds for the victory ahead of Kenroy Anderson, who clocked 20.59.



Ngoni Makusha of Zimbabwe won the men’s 100 metres ‘A’ race in 10.11 ahead of four Jamaicans. Jacques Harvey was second in 10.30 followed by Dexter Lee, 10.36, Kenroy Anderson 10.41 and Winston Barnes 10.48.
