Cricket: Jamaica on the verge of claiming WICB Under 19 title

Leaders Jamaica will enter today’s second day of their final round WICB Under-19 Championship in Guyana in a dominating position against reigning champions Windward Islands.



The game is being played at the Demerara Cricket Club.



The Jamaicans, who took a huge step toward claiming the title on yesterday’s opening day, will resume this morning with a lead of 116 runs. They have eight wickets in hand.



Jamaica closed the first day on 215 for two after dismissing Windward Islands for 99. Opener John Campbell is unbeaten on 145.



Over at Bourda Oval, second place Trinidad & Tobago, replying to Leeward Islands’ first innings total of 149, will resume this morning on 141 for two.



And over at Everest, third place Barbados, responding to Guyana’s first innings total of 87 will resume today in full control on 148 for three.
