Fraser Pryce returns with third place finish

Jamaica’s reigning Olympic and World 100-metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returned to action today but could only manage third in the women’s 100 metres at the London Grand Prix Diamond League.



Fraser-Pryce clocked 11.10 seconds behind American winner Carmelita Jeter, who won in 10.93. Schillonie Calvert of Jamaica was fourth in 11.23 and Aleen Bailey finished seventh in 11.36.



Meanwhile, Jamaicans Warren Weir and Rosemarie Whyte logged personal bests. Whyte clocked 49.84 for second place in the women’s 400 metres. Jamaican-born American Sanya Richards-Ross won in a season-best 49.66.



Weir also finished second to an American on his way to his personal-best time. He clocked 20.43 behind Walter Dix, who won in 20.16.
