The police in Barbados are today questioning two men they believe shot and wounded a police man and woman in an upper class south coast neighbourhood over the weekend.

The men were arrested on Saturday after a sergeant and a constable were shot multiple times during a search for armed burglars, who killed a 79-year-old pensioner and his son-in-law at their home days before.

The cops were shot in Navy Gardens, a quiet, suburb three miles outside Bridgetown.

The police have not said if the men are connected to the burglary.

Meanwhile, the police constable remains in hospital while the female sergeant was treated and discharged.
