Trinidad and Tobago Opposition senator, Fitzgerald Hinds says he will not apologise for comments he made in regard to Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar.

Earlier this week, the prime minister said she would take legal action if Hinds failed to apologise.

Hinds had said Persad-Bissessar had misled the country by stating that she was not being investigated by the Integrity Commission.

Earlier this month, Hinds brandished a letter which he said had been sent to him by the Integrity Commission to a request he made regarding the Prime Minister.

In a radio interview today, he said he sees no reason to apologise because he spoke on the letter which he still has in his possession.

Meanwhile, the main opposition People’s National Movement has issued a statement saying it supports its senator.
