Jamaica score easy victory over Leeward Islands
Jamaica recorded an easy seven-wicket victory over Leeward Islands today to end their campaign in the WICB Regional Under-19 Fifty-Over Championships in Guyana on a high.
The game was played at Everest.
It was the second straight victory for Jamaica after the three-day champion went without a win after three rounds.
Set 84 to win, Jamaica reached the victory target off 14.3 overs with John Campbell leading the way with an undefeated 58.
Pacer Nino Henry took two of the three wickets to fall.
Earlier, Leeward Island sent in to bat, were bowled out for 83 off 27 overs.
Fabian Allen led the bowling for Jamaica with three for 16, while James McDonald had two for nine and John Campbell two for 17.
In the title race, pacer Justin Greaves picked up a five-wicket haul as Barbados bowled out defending champions Trinidad and Tobago for 193 off 48.4 overs at the Demerara Cricket Club.
Barbados will need 194 for victory.
Over at Bourda, hosts Guyana bowled out Windward Islands for 202 off 49.2 overs.
