Government and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) had been in conflict over the imposition of a rental fee of US$25,000 or 10 percent of gate receipts for the use of any of the country’s major football stadiums for international matches.

Minister of Sports, Gary Hunt, said the Government and the T&TFF have now reached an agreement over the rental fees, which is subject to ratification.

In relation to the staging of international events a flat fee of 10 percent of gate receipt will be charged for rental fees.

For the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, the Ministry has decided to waive the flat fee and accept eight per cent of the gross gate receipts. This should be paid within five working days of the match.
