T&T declares state of emergency

Sections of Trinidad and Tobago are under a state of emergency as the Government addresses an upsurge of murders in the country.
The state of emergency was announced yesterday by Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar.
It took effect at midnight.
Persad Bissessar said curfews will be imposed in criminal hot spots.
