Curfew to disrupt T&T Pro League

The limited state of emergency imposed in Trinidad and Tobago yesterday to deal with an alarming crime wave affecting sections of the country is likely to delay Friday’s start of the T&T Pro League.
Chairman of the Pro League board, Larry Romany, said organisers were facing no choice but to postpone the opening fixtures following Sunday night’s announcement by Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar.
The state of emergency will be in place for 15 days.
The T&T Pro League was set to kick off with a doubleheader at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, located in west Trinidad.
Eight teams are down to contest the new Pro League season.
