The police in Antigua and Barbuda are reporting an increase in the theft of motor vehicle parts and tyres.
They said victims have reported discovering their vehicles on blocks with the wheels missing, while a number of batteries have been stolen from trucks.
As a result, owners of motor vehicles in the country have been urged to take the necessary security precautions in an effort to curb what appears to be a booming trade in stolen vehicle parts.
Law enforcement authorities have also warned vehicle owners to constantly monitor their parked vehicles or install security alarms.
Police spokesman, Senior Sergeant William Holder, has cautioned that those engaged in the illegal trade, would be dealt with seriously once caught.
