Football: St. George's and Cornwall College bow into action today

Last season’s dethroned champions St George’s College will begin their 2011 urban area ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel Manning Cup campaign against Edith Dalton James High when the competition resumes this afternoon.



That match is scheduled to take place at Winchester Park and is one of three Group ‘E’ games on. The other games are Tarrant hosting Meadowbrook and Innswood entertaining Spanish Town.



Matches from Group ‘A’ and Group ‘C’ are also scheduled for today.

Over in Group ‘A’ Holy Trinity and Greater Portmore face off, while St Catherine host Calabar.



Over in Group ‘C’ – the matches are Ascot against Charlie Smith, Vauxhall playing Dunoon and Haile Selassie tackling Wolmer’s.



The rural area ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel daCosta Cup competition will also continue today following the opening matches of the season on Saturday.



Among the teams on show today are the competition’s most successful team, 11-time champions Cornwall College, Munro College, Dinthill Technical and Frome Technical.



Cornwall College play away to Spot Valley High in Zone ‘A’, Munro host Newell in Zone ‘F’, Dinthill Technical entertain McGrath in Zone ‘J’ and Frome Technical against hosts Malcon in Zone ‘B’.



Ten other games are also scheduled for today.



All matches are set to kick off at 3:30.
