St. Lucia PM knew about visa revocation says opposition

The Opposition St. Lucia Labour Party has accused the government of withholding critical information from the public in relation to the revocation of the housing minister’s visa by US authorities.

The accusation comes after US Charge d’Affaires, Christopher Sandrolini, revealed in a television interview that in cases where the visa of a government official is being revoked, that individual would be informed beforehand.

Opposition leader Dr. Kenny Anthony said both Housing Minister Richard Frederick and the Prime Minister Stephenson King knew that the US had revoked Frederick’s diplomatic and visitor visas before the news broke last Friday.

Anthony is now calling for the Prime Minister to tell the country why the housing minister’s visa was revoked.
