The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has been rocked by a scandal involving the alleged sexual abuse of two boys by policemen in separate incidents.

Both officers have been charged, one with buggery, and the other with indecent assault.

On Wednesday, the police force announced that it had charged a young constable with indecent assault arising from an incident last week.

A police patrol discovered the officer and a 14 year old boy in a car parked near a beach in the early hours of the morning.

Based on their investigation, the police charged the constable who was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 when he appeared in court.

He was also ordered to surrender his passport and report every week to the police.

In February, another officer was charged with buggery, allegedly committed on a 14 year old boy whom he was reportedly counselling.
