Football: KC defeat Ardenne

Former champions, Kingston College (KC) brushed aside Ardenne, 5-1 yesterday, to register their fourth consecutive victory in the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel Manning Cup competition.
As a result of the victory, KC moved six points clear atop Zone F with 12 points. In the group’s other match, Penwood edged Donald Quarrie 3-2.
Meanwhile, Jamaica College secured their fourth straight victory from five games in Group D following a 4-1 triumph over Pembroke Hall. St. Jago blanked Cumberland 2-0.
Over in Group B, Hydel clipped Denham Town 2-1, last year’s beaten finalist Waterford turned back Campion College 1-0, while Papine and Tivoli battled to a 1-1 draw.
In the remaining games, Bridgeport beat St Mary’s College 1-0 and St Andrew Technical High blanked Oberlin 2-0.
The competition continues Friday with the start of the return matches.
