Nash to play for Doutta Stars

West Indies vice-captain Brendan Nash will play for Doutta Stars in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association this year.
The news came a few days after Nash pulled out of Jamaica’s training squad for next month’s West Indies Cricket Board Regional Super50 championship in Guyana.
Chairman of the National Selection Panel Courtney Daley said Nash cited personal reasons for his withdrawal.
The 33-year-old Nash has racked up 30 Test caps with West Indies.
Last season he scored a first-class personal best score of 207.
In October 2010, Nash was named vice-captain of the Windies, and between October 2007 and May 2011 the Australian-born star scored 1093 Test runs at an average of 35.25.
The club’s president Paul Gleeson described Nash’s signing as a “major sporting coup’’ for Doutta Stars and cricket in general.
Nash was born in Western Australia and has played first-class cricket for Queensland Bulls and Jamaica.
