Cassanova Boy for Owen Silvera Memorial

Midweek racing resumes at Caymanas Park today with the annual renewal of the Owen Silvera Memorial Cup over 1600 metres for open allowance horses.



The race has attracted a field of eight and should come down to a fight between two American bred horses, Cassanova Boy and Mikenificent.



Mikenificent, from the camp of Dwight Chen, completed a hat trick of wins on September 17 and is now up in class for a crack at the trophy.



The three-year-old bay colt, to be ridden by Wesley Henry, is pretty light and is confidently expected to fight out the finish.



However, preference is for the Wayne DaCosta-trained Cassanova Boy, who represents the class horse of the field. Title-chasing jockey Shane Ellis gets the ride.



There are 10 other races on the card and post time is 12.15 p.m.
