JA\'s women hit the track tonight
Jamaica’s women sprinters will begin their hunt for glory tonight when track and field action continues at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
The first heat is scheduled to get off at 9.50 p.m.
Up first for Jamaica will be the fast-starting Shelly-Ann Fraser who runs in Heat 6 with Sherone Simpson in Heat 9.
Jamaica’s other entry national champion Kerron Stewart will run in the 10th and final heat.
All three women have been in tremendous form this year.
Stewart 10.80 and first-time Olympian Fraser 10.85 ran personal-best times in placing first and second at the National Championships.
The three Jamaican women 400-metre runners will also be in action tonight.
National Champion Rosemarie White will run in Heat One at 11.10 p.m., followed by Novlene Williams in Heat 6 and Shericka Williams in Heat 7.
