Young West Indies place third

West Indies Under-19 cricketers are now heading home from India after placing third in the Quadrangular Youth Series which ended yesterday.
The Caribbean side defeated Australia Under-19 by 16 runs in the Consolation Final to snatch third place.
Kraigg Brathwaite guided West Indies to victory with a century.
Brathwaite, the Young Windies captain, collected 11 fours and one six in the top score of 102 from 107 balls to lead West Indies to 365 from their 50 overs.
Anthony Alleyne supported well with 90, Kaveem Hodge scored 62 and Sunil Ambris 50.
Needing 365 for victory, Australia Under-19 replied with 349 for nine with William Bosisto scoring 107, Cameron Bancroft 63 and Shane Cassell 53.
Derone Davis was the most successful bowler for the young West Indies with three for 30, while Amir Khan picked up two for 60.
In the Grand Final at the Reddy Stadium, India Under-19 scored a thrilling five-run victory over Sri Lanka Under-19.
The tournament formed part of all four teams’ preparations for the Youth World Cup next year in the Australian state of Queensland.
Young West Indies have been drawn in Group-C along with the Indians, Zimbabwe, and Papua New Guinea.
