Police arrest suspect in California shooting

Police in California said they have taken in a suspect after eight people were shot dead at a hair salon in the Los Angeles area yesterday.



The shooting took place in the city of Seal Beach, California, in a retail area off the Pacific Coast Highway.



The police said six people were initially confirmed dead, while two others died later and one remains in a critical condition.



Police said the suspect, a man, was arrested near the scene of the shooting.

They said multiple weapons were seized.
