Glenmuir, Denbigh record victories at DaCosta Cup

Former champions Glenmuir High School booked their place in the inter-zone round of the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel daCosta Cup yesterday following a 2-0 victory over Vere Technical.



Glenmuir High have joined Denbigh as Zone I qualifiers.



Denbigh were also in good form, scoring a big 4-1 over Garvey Maceo to complete their fixtures with 30 points, one ahead of Glenmuir.



In Zone H, leaders Clarendon College and last year’s beaten finalists Lennon High wrapped up the group’s two inter-zone places.



Clarendon College edged Edwin Allen 1-0, while Lennon High hammered Porus 9-0.



In Zone D, St Mary High joined St Mary Technical in the inter-zone round after a 3-2 win against Brimmervale High.



However, leaders St Mary Technical went down 2-0 to Iona to remain on 16 points, one ahead of St Mary High, heading into the final round of matches on Saturday.



In Zone E, Grange Hill surged to the top of the group standings after they defeated Godfrey Stewart 1-0, and Manning’s lost 3-2 to Petersfield to remain on 20 points.



The competition continues this afternoon at 3.30 with 15 matches.
